Hello you lovely people and HAPPY New Year.
My question today is did I get it right, was the gift exactly what you wished for or were those hints you endlessly dropped misread yet again? If that's the case I apologise profusely but what you have to remember is that beneath that gorgeous red suit and endless laughter there's still merely a man who always prefer instruction and lists are his preference!
The good news this year though is I have a perfect solution and there is a Plan B, this wonderful Community Appeal.
Any unwanted NEW items can be placed in a collection box inside the Parish Church in Repton. The box has been placed at the rear of the Church by our lovely Vicar Martin who will distribute the items accordingly. The smaller NEW items being used in a variety of ways, some for the Food Bank, and some used as Tombola and Raffle prizes when life reboots to normality in the summer. The items of greater value will be sold online via Ebay, Facebook or other online platforms generating funding for the Food Bank and other community needs during this horrendous crisis.
Finally may I just add that Covid has shown us is that even though our doors are closed and life shutdown, our hearts have opened more than ever before with appreciation for our fellow men, particularly all the key workers during this this time of crisis, and especially the NHS. If you're isolating please pass your gift to a friend or neighbour to drop in on your behalf. NEW larger items can be collected. You're a trustworthy, ,self motivated, savvy individual with a passion for online selling.
You may even have your own online shop already so have just the skills and experience this role requires, knowing exactly how to achieve the best possible price for your treasures.
This project involves setting up an Ebay shop, or similar outlet. Advertising all the unwanted NEW Christmas gifts. Recording and accounting for each item. Packing and posting or arranging collection of larger items when safe to do so. Transferring all the income to the Community Fund, once postage and other costings deducted.
